Our techniques

The medical professionals at 1st Osteopathy and Rehabilitation Clinic employ a wide range of proven techniques for each individual case. Below you'll find a brief explanation of the most common osteopathic techniques in use today.

High Volicity Manipulation

Although sounding scary this treatment modality has been proven to have good results in relieving pain levels and has been used by osteoapths and chiropractors for over one hundred years and medicine men for even longer.

Spinal/Joint Articulation

This therapy is more in line with the treatment carried out by Physiotherapists.

Trigger point
The primary purpose of trigger point therapy is to reduce the pain that results from hypersensitive muscles. Trigger points are identified by gently pressing on the surface of the skin, sensing the texture of the underlying muscle.

A trigger point is like a knot the size of a pea, buried deep in the muscle tissue. It is made up of lactic acid, a normal byproduct of muscular activity, which sometimes gets trapped in the muscle as a result of physical, chemical or emotional stress.

Additional therapies
Our practice employs many physical therapy methods, including ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation and cold laser therapy to complement our other techniques.
